While the police are set to bring Lucky Singh, a cabbie and suspect in the rape case of a call centre employee, on production warrants tomorrow, his involvement in another molestation case came to light today.

According to Mohali SSP Harcharan Singh Bhullar, Lucky Singh was booked under Section 354 (outraging modesty of a woman) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC at the Zirakpur police station in May 2013.

“He had caught a girl in a washroom at the Metro store in Zirakpur and outraged her modesty. The girl had raised the alarm after which he was overpowered by some persons and handed over to the police,” said the SSP.

He said the FIR in the case was quashed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court in 2016 after an out-of-the-court settlement between the parties.

So far, four cases have come to light against Lucky Singh. Yesterday, a woman had lodged a complaint of molestation against him at the Phase 8 police station.

Lucky Singh was first booked in a case of outraging the modesty of a woman at the Balongi police station in 2012 on a complaint of his tenant. He had also confessed to his involvement in a case of kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl from Shahimajra village on the intervening night of October 12 and 13 last year. A case of rape of an employee of a local call centre was registered against him on April 15 at the Sohana police station.
