The administration is going to follow the Centre’s guidelines in toto. And according to guidelines, these will open from June 8.

Allow shops to open till 8 pm: Traders body

Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) today wrote to the UT Administration to allow opening of shops from 10 am to 8 pm.

“Because of extreme hot weather, consumers cannot visit markets as closing time is 6 pm. As lockdown is also extended till 9 pm from tomorrow, so you are requested to change the timing of shops from 10 am to 8 pm for the convenience of general public,” said Charanjiv Singh, Chairman, CBM.

“It was also requested to make it optional for traders to open their shops on Sunday all over the city and issue formal order for the same. These measures will benefit both traders and consumers,” he added.
