A two-day international conference on the topic, “Transforming Lives of the Unreached Women Through Collective Activism”, concluded on Saturday. Rekha Sharma, chairperson, National Commission for Women, was the chief guest on Friday while Kiran Sibbal, member judge, Punjab State Consumer Redressal Forum, was a special guest on the second day of the conference. It was organised by the Women’s Studies Centre, Punjabi University.
As many as 10 technical sessions were held during the course of two days, in which over 160 research papers were read on diverse issues. The organisers also screened a documentary film, “A War Begins After it Ends: A Case Study of Military Widows”. — TNS
