Illegal sewerage connections of 5 booths snapped in Mohali

Taking action against some occupants of booths at Phase 5 here, the Mohali Municipal Corporation disconnected their unauthorised sewerage connections, here today.

Taranjit Kaur Gill, councillor of the area, said MC officials had disconnected the unauthorised sewerage connection of booth numbers 246, 247, 248, 250 and 251.

“Occupants of these booths have been running eateries in the shops. They connected drainage pipes with the sewerage of the residential area due to which residents were facing inconvenience. Most of the time, sewerage lines remained blocked and there was also a problem of sewerage overflow here,” said Gill.
