CHANDIGARH:Jupinderjit Singh defeated Kailash Nath in a closely contested men''s singles final on the concluding day of the Yonex Sunrise Inter-Media Samuel Banerjee Badminton Tournament, at the Sector 43 Sports Complex, on Sunday.

Chandigarh, January 20

Jupinderjit Singh defeated Kailash Nath in a closely contested men's singles final on the concluding day of the Yonex Sunrise Inter-Media Samuel Banerjee Badminton Tournament, at the Sector 43 Sports Complex, on Sunday. 

He logged a comeback 5-15 15-11 15-9 win to lift the title. 

Kuldeep Singh won the men's +45 years title by defeating Kulbhushan Ahuja. Earlier on Saturday, Arshdeep Arshi won the women's singles title.  

In the men’s double final, team of Ramesh Handa and Kulbhushan Ahuja defeated Kuldeep Singh and Bhupinder Jishtu, while in the women's double final, pair of Kanchan Vasdev and Damini Goel defeated Arshdeep and Vidhya.  In the mixed double final, duo of Kuldeep Singh and Ruby defeated the team of Saurabh Duggal and Arshdeep. The two-day event was organised by Chandigarh Press Club and Chandigarh Badminton Association. —TNS
