Kalka resident ‘stabs’ wife to death, booked

A resident of Kalka here allegedly murdered his wife by stabbing her in the chest.

The Kalka police have registered a case against the suspect, identified as Abhishek Dutt, who is at large.

In his complaint to the police, victim Bhawna’s father, Durga Dass, a resident of Kapurthala road, Jalandhar, stated that his daughter was married to the suspect and they were living in Kalka with their two daughters. He alleged that his son-in-law used to regularly beat up and fight with his daughter.

The complainant stated that he received a call from one of his granddaughters on Friday evening that Abhishek had fought with Bhawna and had stabbed her in the chest. The woman was taken to the Government Hospital, Kalka. She died due to the stab wounds.

Durga Dass said the victim was 35 years of age. He said, “Abhishek used to quarrel with my daughter on a regular basis. He attacked and murdered her in an inebriated state on Friday evening. He is an advocate by profession.”

The complainant said the family had collected the body and cremated it today.

A case has been registered against Abhishek Dutt at the Kalka police station.
