The police today booked a Sohana resident on charge of raping a 28-year-old woman.
The suspect, identified as Kamardeep Singh, a resident of Sohana, is yet to be arrested. He was booked under Section 376 of the IPC at the Mataur police station today.
The complainant, a resident of Zirakpur, alleged that the suspect was staying with her and raping him for the past sometime on the pretext of marrying her. He later refused to marry her. Investigating officer Navjeet Kaur said a case had been registered. The police were searching for the suspect.
