Mohali, June 30

The Permanent Lok Adalat, Mohali, has attached the salary of the PSPCL XEN for not releasing electricity connection to a private builder.

Terming the action of not releasing power connection to M/s MM Builders, which runs Sky Jumpers in Oxford Street, Zirakpur, contempt of its orders issued on May 20, the court ordered attachment of salary of HS Oberai, XEN, Zirakpur Division, PSPCL.

The court order signed by Permanent Lok Adalat members Vandana Gupta and Dr SS Dhaliwal reads: “Despite the orders of this court, the PSPCL is avoiding release of connection on flimsy grounds. We are of the considered view the action of the PSPCL amounts to contempt of the orders of this adalat. Accordingly, before taking any further drastic action against the PSPCL officers, we direct that the electricity connection be released to the applicant.”
