The district administration here will conduct camps to assess the senior citizens for providing free distribution of assistive devices under the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) in the first week of July.
Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh said the camps would be organised by the Auxiliary Production Centre of Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO).
The beneficiaries will be called in batches, consisting not more than 30 persons at a time, he added.
The camps are conducted by the ALIMCO under various schemes of the government for free distribution of aids and appliances to people with disabilities and senior citizens, said the DC.
He said the camps would be conducted in two phases – in the first phase, camp is organised to assess the requirement of suitable assistive devices for individual beneficiaries, while in the second phase, camp is organised to distribute the appliances and aids to the identified beneficiaries.
The DC urged the senior citizens to participate in the assessment camps to be conducted in the first week of July by registering themselves at the nearest common service centre.
For registration, a person needs to submit a copy of senior citizen card/age proof/copy of Aadhar, a copy of BPL card/pension proof/income proof (income less than Rs 15,000 per month issued by village sarpanch, municipal councilor), address proof and two photographs, he informed.
