University to form panel

Patiala, September 21

Punjabi University on Friday decided to form a committee to probe the case. The panel will submit its report after three months.

The university officials said they had freezed the CCTV footage of the clash that occurred on Tuesday night. The footage would be given to the committee to probe the matter. They said they had accepted most of the students’ demands, but could not agree upon the opening of the girls’ hostel 24 hours.

Registrar MS Nijjer said the university had already written to the higher authorities for construction of two girls’ hostels on the campus. 

Registrar made spokesperson

Vice Chancellor BS Ghuman on Friday said he had made registrar MS Nijjer the official spokesperson for the university. — TNS
