Amritsar, October 12
Health officials continued scrutinising the record of a noted pharmaceutical firm for the third day consecutively on Friday.
The firm’s name figured during the investigation of seizure of 10.5-kg narcotic powder from a woman and her son in Bal Sachander village. They had procured the same from a quack, Prem Nath, of Sharifpura who was also nabbed in the case.
During the raid, the drug authorities confiscated tablets worth lakh of rupees after they found discrepancies in records. Sources said there were certain discrepancies in the record while the firm also failed to inform about their supply to the concerned authorities.
Rashpal Singh, AIG, Special Task Force, said the firm came under scanner after the STF nabbed three persons for drug peddling recently. — TNS
