Six booked for land fraud

TARN TARAN: Six persons, including a bank manager, sub-registrar and a patwari, have been booked by the Chabal police for cheating.

Six persons, including a bank manager, sub-registrar and a patwari, have been booked by the Chabal police for cheating.

The case has been registered on the statement of Tara Singh of Chabal Kalan who said that he had submitted his registration document of 27 kanal and two marla of land to the ICICI Bank while taking a loan, but the accused bank manager, in connivance with patwari and others, got the land transferred to someone else’s name. The police have registered a case under Sections 420 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.

Meanwhile, in another case, the Chabal police have booked Devinderbir Singh of Gaggobua village under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code on the complaint of Amarjit Singh of Sohal village. Amarjit alleged that the accused took Rs 4.5 lakh from him last year with a promise of getting him settled abroad.

He said he wanted the accused to return his money.
