The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Bathinda, will provide medical aid to voters on the polling day. Besides, there would be arrangement of an ambulance to meet any medical emergency situation as well.
The executive members of the IMA said they would provide 60 wheelchairs to disabled and elderly voters at different polling booths so that they did not face inconvenience while casting their vote.
Keeping in view the summer season, the IMA would provide sachets of Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) and packaged drinking water to disabled, elderly and needy voters, he said.
Dr Vikas Chabbra, president, IMA, Bathinda, said, “Workers on behalf of the IMA will welcome physically challenged and elderly voters who are above 85 years of age by presenting them buds of roses at polling booths.”
Dr Chabbra added, “There will be an ambulance stationed at the model polling booth, Civil Lines Club, to meet any medical eventualities at any polling booth. This ambulance is fully equipped with medical equipment and qualified staff to render medical services. We exhort residents of the constituency to come out in maximum numbers and exercise their franchise on the polling day.”
