CHANDIGARH:The Chandigarh Golf Club team won the inter-club championship with the team best score of 172 points.

Chandigarh, October 21 

The Chandigarh Golf Club team won the inter-club championship with the team best score of 172 points.  The team of GS Ruppal (45 points), Hazel Chauhan (44 points), JS Sandhawalia (42 points) and Ashwani Sharma (41 points) claimed the top spot.

Panchkula Golf Club and Chandigarh Golf Club were tied at the identical scores of 172 points, however, the hosts won the title on the basis of better back six score.

A total of five teams - Panchkula Golf Club, SEPTA Chandimandir, KEPTA Ambala, BETA Patiala and Chandigarh Golf Club - participated in the event. Each team was represented by 20 golfers (18 men and 2 ladies), five golfers from each of the four categories (handicap 0-6, handicap 7-12, handicap 13-18 and above-75 years). Saurabh Mangat claimed the individual gross category title with a score of 74. In the 0-6 handicap category, Lakhmehar Pardesi (40 points) claimed the top position, followed by Col AS Bajwa (39 points) at the second spot. In the 7-12 handicap category, Col AS Dhillon (42 points) took the first position, while Vivek (41 points) finished second. Shobhit with a score of 47 points won the 13-18 handicap category and Hazel (44 points) finished second. GS Uppal (45 points) won the above-75 years category and DS Brar (42 points) claimed the second position. —TNS
