Dera Bassi, October 21
A car parked in front of the Ramlila ground at the main bazaar here was stolen this morning.
According to sources, the car belongs to Ravindra Batra, an SAD-BJP councillor. The incident came to light when the councillor found his Swift car missing from the parking place.
Batra, in his complaint to the Dera Bassi police, said he had parked his car, bearing a Punjab registration number, in the parking area of the Ramlila ground in the market. Suspecting the role of a youth, he said he was at his shop when the youth came and spent a few minutes at the shop seeing shoes for himself.
He alleged that the youth bought a pair of shoes and left. The incident could not be captured on the CCTV camera as there was no electricity in the market at that time.
The police are looking into the matter.
