Man accused of raping minor

The Patiala police have registered a case against a man for allegedly raping a minor for two years on the pretext of marriage. The accused has been identified as Gurvinder Singh of Peer Colony in Rajpura. 

The victim stated in her complaint to the police that the accused was in an “illicit” relationship with her for the last two years. She said Gurvinder  assured her of marriage continued harassing her sexually.

The police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 376 (rape) of the IPC, and Sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The police are investigating the matter.
