Patiala, April 18
The police have registered a rape against the Youth Akali Dal leader, Sahil Goyal, a resident of Chatha Nanu Mal, following a complaint by a 19-year-old girl.
As per the complainant, the accused had an affair with her following which they allegedly developed physical relations. “The girl alleged that she was raped by the accused on the pretext of marriage,” said the police.
However, Gupta’s family members termed the allegations as political vendetta.
The accused has been booked under Section 376 of the IPC at Women police station. — TNS
