New Delhi, January 14
Ahead of the launch of Measles-Rubella Vaccination (MRV) campaign here, arrangements are in the last stage with around 1,100 vaccinator teams ready for the job from January 16 at identified locations in the city.
Each team — one ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife) and three ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist)/ Anganwadi workers — is supposed to cover 200 children (between nine months and 15 years) each day.
“The drive is a massive exercise and everything was microplanned. Schools and selected facilities have been informed well in advance. Logistics have been sent to districts and from there, they are being moved to respective facilities. After its launch tomorrow, 1,100 teams will be on the move each day during the entire MRV drive,” Dr Suresh said.
To dispel myths and apprehensions surrounding the MRV and its successful execution, health experts and officials have tried to rope in madrasas, NGO partners, IMA, DMA and Indian Association of Paediatrics.
