1971 war: Victory flame reaches Hisar military station



Hisar, January 15

The ‘Dot On Target’ (DOT) division at the Military Station here welcomed the victory flame to commemorate 50 years of the 1971 war and mark 2021 as ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh.

The victory flame was handed over to the Indian Army by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on December 16.

Major General Devindar Kumar, General Officer Commanding, ‘Dot On Target’ Division, received the victory flame at the Military Station. The ceremony was attended by military personnel and ex-servicemen along with their families. Kin of two Veer Chakra awardee martyrs of the war — Second Lieutenant Hawa Singh and company havildar Major Krishan Singh — were also present on the occasion. — TNS
