Ambala: An Alumni meet titled “MOSAIC” was organised at DC Model Senior Secondary School. On the occasion of the silver jubilee, students exhibited their talents by displaying working and non-working models for science, social studies, mathematics and ATL.

Ambala: An Alumni meet titled “MOSAIC” was organised at DC Model Senior Secondary School. On the occasion of the silver jubilee, students exhibited their talents by displaying working and non-working models for science, social studies, mathematics and ATL. The main attraction of event was the launch of the alumni logo as well as souvenir. Principal Anita Laxmi Dhar presented a report on academics and extra-curricular achievements of the school.

Martyrdom day observed  

Sonepat: On the occasion of the martyrdom day of Guru Teg Bahadur, family members of the teaching staff of Bhagat Phool Singh Women University, Khanpur Kalan (Sonepat) organised a 'Sanjha Chulha' on the campus. Eco-friendly dishes, including chapatis of wheat, maize, bajra, kachri ki chatni, rice, gur and lassi, were served in wooden plates, glasses and spoons. In her message, Vice Chancellor Sushma Yadav paid rich tributes to Guru Teg Bahadur for his supreme sacrifice and thanked the organisers. 

2 pad dispensers installed  

Kaithal: Lions Club Disha got two manual sanitary napkin-vending machines installed at Indira Gandhi Mahila Mahavidyalaya. Officiating principal of the college Arti Garg welcomed SK Chhatwal, district president of the club. Dr Chhatwal said the machine would help in maintaining hygiene among girl students and woman staff. She also spoke about breast and cervical cancer vaccine and other health related issues and gave important health tips. 

Constitution Day celebrated  

Jind: The NSS unit of Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, celebrated Constitution Day with great enthusiasm. Prof Rajesh Upadhaya from Delhi University, who was key speaker on the occasion, highlighted the importance of the Constitution. He said the fundamental rights enshrined in the Constitution were essential for equality and justice at all levels and ensure social inclusion. Vice Chancellor Prof RB Solanki said the Indian Constitution had unique features, which were essential to maintain harmony in society. 

Campus placement drive 

Hisar: Seventeen students have been selected by a Noida-based Collabera Technologies (training and hiring partner for HCL) during the campus placement drive conducted by the training and placement cell of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar. Vice Chancellor Prof Tankeshwar Kumar and Registrar Anil Kumar Pundir congratulated the selected students. Partap Singh Malik, director, placement, said 100 students of BTech, CSE, IT, ME and ECE participated in the drive. Aptitude test and personal interviews were conducted. All selected students will join the company in June next year. 

Rs 1.62-lakh grant for MDU 

Rohtak: The department of computer science and applications of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) has been selected for a grant of Rs 1.62 lakh to conduct the AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy programme. HoD Prof Rajender Singh Chillar said the department would conduct the training from March 23- 27 next year. He said Vice Chancellor Prof Rajbir Singh had encouraged the department to organise this specialised training programme.  

National milk day at NDRI

Karnal: National Milk Day was observed at National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI) on Tuesday as a mark of respect to father of white revolution Dr Verghese Kurien on his birth anniversary. A number of activities were organised to create awareness about the nutritional benefits of milk and its products. The institute demonstrated a rapid diagnostic milk adulteration kit commercialised to M/S Delmos Research Pvt Ltd to schoolchildren and visitors at the milk parlour. In all, 120 students from Anand Public School, Nigdhu and Kanika Public School visited the campus and were apprised of institute activities by showcasing documentary film and the NDRI museum.
