Murder bid: Ex-minister Nirmal Singh gets bail

YAMUNANAGAR: The court of Additional Sessions Judge Chandra Shekhar on Wednesday granted bail to former minister and Congress leader Nirmal Singh in a attempt to murder case.

The court of Additional Sessions Judge Chandra Shekhar on Wednesday granted bail to former minister and Congress leader Nirmal Singh in a attempt to murder case.

He was arrested on April 26 and was in judicial custody. Nirmal Singh and 15 other persons were booked on the charge of attempt to murder and under the Arms Act for allegedly firing at the owner of a screening plant and other persons in Khizrabad area of the district.

The complainant, Karan Singh of Mandoli Gagat village, said that land of the former minister was connected by a non-metalled road from Bailgarh village to Lakkar village.

He alleged that the ex-minister closed the road by digging pits. When he along with his associates went to fill the pits, Nirmal Singh, Sultan Singh, Aslam, Ramu, Chhota Aslam, Sajid, Manan, Sandeep, Abdul, Rohit and five or six other persons reached the spot.

He alleged that Nirmal Singh, Sultan Singh and Aslam opened fire and other persons started throwing stones at him.

He said that he and his associates had to run from there to save their lives.

He alleged that the bullets hit tyres and windshield of his machine and the attackers took away the machine and two motorcycles.
