Online training programme organised at Haryana Agricultural University

Hisar: A one-day online training was organised at Nehru Library of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) on Thursday. The theme of the training was 'Awareness and use of Urkand-anti plagiarism software among faculty and PG students'. The director of research of the university, Dr SK Sehrawat called upon the participants to give importance to quality in their research and avoid plagiarism and use anti-plagiarism tools. Librarian Dr Balwan Singh informed that this training had been organised under the programme 'Shodhshuddhi' (fairness in research) launched under various schemes of the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

Cycling competition

Hisar: A cycling competition was organised by Indira Chakravarti Home Science College of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, (HAU) Hisar. The competition was organised by the final year students of the family resources department of the college on the occasion of Green Consumer Day. Dr Kiran Singh said 300 participants had registered from different parts of the country. After registration, the cycling record was sent by email through a mobile App.

e-Mausam SMS service on govt website

Hisar: The e-Mausam SMS service of Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar has also found place on the website of the Haryana government. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has put the link of the mobile app e-Mausam of the HAU on its web-portal. Prof BR Kamboj, VC said that it was a matter of great pride for the university.

SSB skill classes for NCC cadets

Hisar: NCC 11, HAR BN-Bhiwani in collaboration with Banwari Lal Jindal Suiwala College, Tosham has started the SSB skill classes online. Group commander Brig. Rohit Notiyal has proposed to organise SSB skill classes for the deserving NCC cadets of different colleges free of cost for which Col Rajnish Mehta has been appointed as the Nodal officer. 50 NCC cadets of different colleges of Haryana are being taught interview skills by Col Bhasker Gupta, Chief Training officer, Group Command Rohtak.

Inter-college quiz competition

Karnal: An online district level inter-college quiz competition was organised by the red ribbon club of DAV PG College. The quiz comprised of five rounds where students of different colleges participated enthusiastically.DAV PG College, Karnal bagged first position, while KVA DAV for Women College, Karnal, remained at second position and Pt Chiranji Lal Government College, Karnal, stood third.

Workshop on physical sciences

Kurukshetral: Kurukshetra University’s department of physics organised a two-day workshop on innovation in physical sciences for different applications on the showcase through Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav in collaboration with KUTIC. During the first day of the workshop, two invited talks were delivered by Dr Kamaljeet Singh from the Institute of Geo-energy Eng, Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom. He spoke about the role of geo sciences and geo energy engineering for energy transition. In the second talk, Prof NG Sahoo FRSC, in-charge of Nano Science and Nanotechnology Centre, Department of Chemistry, DSB Campus, Kumaun University, Nainital talked about the generation of graphene from different types of waste such as waste plastic, tyres, agro-waste, etc. for different applications.

Training programme

Faridabad: The mechanical engineering department of the JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad has organised a week-long comprehensive training programme on refrigeration and air conditioning for the benefit of students, technical staff and faculty members. The programme is being convened by the RAC workshop in collaboration with Daikin Air-conditioning India Pvt. Ltd (DAIPL). A centre of excellence (CoE) in collaboration with Daikin Indian has also been operational in the university.

Pulse polio campaign

Faridabad:The JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad conducted a special pulse polio campaign for the benefit of construction workers' children residing on the university campus. The drive supported by nursing students from nearby hospitals, covered all children of construction workers up to the age of five years. VC Prof. Dinesh Kumar started the campaign by administering polio drops to the children and exhorted the health teams to cover all families of construction workers residing in the university. He also applauded the efforts of nursing students.
