Is a civic issue bothering you? Are you agitated over the lack of concern? Is there something heartening that you feel needs to be highlighted? Or a picture which in your opinion ought to be seen by many, and not just you?

People must follow Covid prevention guidelines
THOUGH the state government had restricted the number of persons attending wedding functions, crowds of people are still assembling at many other public places without any fear of pandemic. I saw a bus running from Narwana to Gurugram with full capacity of 50 which ideally should have been 25. Similarly, large crowd of people can be seen at hospital OPDs, tehsils, railway stations, vegetables and grain markets, also with no mask and social distancing. People should comply with Covid prevention guidelines and stop the chain of infection in masses. Ramesh Gupta, Narwana
Footpath encroachments irk residents
IT is a matter of great satisfaction that the department of town and country planning (DTCP) and Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) are conducting a survey of all major sector roads in the city to identify encroachments of footpaths and green belts. As a matter of fact that these large scale encroachments have become major hurdles for common people and commuters. The problem should be solved at the earliest so that public is relieved. Subhash C Taneja, Gurugram
Administration must rope in drones
THE local administration/police authorities should employ drone surveillance to keep a tab on Covid-protocol violators, encroachment by shopkeepers, stray cattle, suspicious movement, chain snatchers, mob gathering, fire incidents, traffic bottlenecks, building bylaw violations, upkeep of parks, security needs, loss verification/assessment, voice messages and aerial photography etc in the entire city and issue challan to the violators. Residents must act responsibly
WITH reference to 'Panchkula civic body to act tough against property tax defaulters, officials directed to prepare list, send them notices' (Chandigarh Tribune, November 28), the concern displayed by officials over the 'non-payment' of property tax by certain individuals is appreciated as they have has also called for the preparation of a list of the 'defaulters' and send notices to them on priority. With regards to the MC Chief seeking 'implementation' of the cleanliness campaign on war footing and making it a mass movement, he should himself lead the campaign from the front. He must take some sudden yet 'incognito' visits across the city, without informing his subordinates, to get at the actual position thereabout. Maintaining cleanliness is not only the government's responsibility but every persons's duty. SK Gupta, Panchkula
Donate blood to save lives
THE Panchkula Welfare Trust, MDC, Sector 4, Panchkula, and the Wishwas Foundation, Panchkula, organised a blood donation camp (near the main post office) in Sector 8. A large number of youngsters contributed for the noble cause. We must actively come forward for such events and do our bit in contributing to the society and the humankind. Such events should be organised on regular basis and people must equally participate in them. Vinayak G, Panchkula
