Police wrestling games kick off

Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya kick-started the 68th All India Police Wrestling Cluster-2019 at Vachher stadium in the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban, in which 2,232 players from various states participated. The games will last till February 28.

While addressing the players, the Governor said the state had become a hub of sports. The sports policy of the state as well as the Haryana police had become an example for other states. The Police Department had given several players to the country.

Accompanied by Haryana Director General of Police Manoj Yadava, the Governor congratulated the police for organising the game. He highlighted the benefits of sports and said besides generating team spirit, sports helped in developing spirit of commitment towards duty. “Sports help in discipline, besides making the body and mind healthy,” he added.

He also appreciated Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for implementing policies of the Union Government. He highlighted the contribution of the police in maintaining law and order and maintaining peace. He exhorted players to give their cent per cent to the game. The DGP said during the five-day event, competitions of wrestling, kabaddi, boxing and body building would be held in which 2,232 players from 36 states and union territories are participating. The Governor also took salute of the march-past conducted by the players of various states. Meanwhile, cultural events were also present by the students of DAV Police Public School.
