The Una Agriculture Produce Marketing Committee (APMC) said the Food Corporation of India had made a procurement centre for kharif crops, including paddy and maize, functional at the vegetable and grain marketing complex in Takarla village of Amb.
Balbir Bagga, chairman, APMC, said another procurement centre would be opened at the agriculture market complex in Tahliwal village of Haroli.
The procurement centres would be functional till October 30.
He said the procurement rate would depend on the quality of grains. The farmers would have to get themselves registered to book their procurement days and timings on the website http://hpappp.nic.in. — OC
