Street plays spread information on govt programmes in Chamba

Chamba, January 20

The Information and Public Relations Department is disseminating information on development schemes and achievements of the government among people.

The department, with its empanelled folk media troupes, has been informing the rural masses of Churah and Salooni valleys about programmes and schemes of the government.

Troupes perform ‘nukkad nataks’ (street plays) and people gather to watch and listen. Artistes of the troupe also distribute publicity folders and booklets pertaining to government achievements to viewers when the show gets over.

“Every day, a troupe presents two shows in two panchayats. Daily monitoring of shows is also being conducted as per directives of the department director,” Chamba DPRO Ravi Verma said.
