The Motor Vehicle Department, Reasi, collaborated with the Rotary Health Club Udhampur and Reasi to organize a free medical camp-cum-eye check-up camp at Reasi Bus Stand on Saturday.
The event, held as part of the ongoing National Road Safety Month, focused on ensuring the well-being of drivers and conductors.
As many as 200 commercial drivers and conductors underwent meticulous screenings to assess their fitness for driving. The comprehensive check-up aimed to identify and address any potential health concerns that could compromise their ability to operate vehicles safely.
During the event, those who were found unfit received personalised guidance and recommendations for further medical attention.
Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Tara Mani emphasised the crucial role drivers play in ensuring road safety. He urged drivers to adhere to all precautions and road safety measures while driving and encouraged them to raise awareness among their family and friends about the importance of following precautionary measures. He urged drivers to prioritise safety by avoiding rash driving, abstaining from driving under the influence of alcohol, and adhering to speed limits.
