With 1,141 new COVID-19 cases — 689 from Jammu division and 452 from Kashmir Valley — the caseload in the Union Territory crossed the 72,000-mark on Sunday.

The total number of cases in Jammu and Kashmir now stands at 72,190. The UT also recorded 1,365 recoveries during the same period, taking the number of total recovered patients to 52,859.

Meanwhile, seven more COVID-19 deaths — three from Jammu province and four from Kashmir Valley — were also reported during the past 24 hours, pushing the death toll to 1,132 across the UT.

Of the total deaths recorded in Jammu and Kashmir, 823 deaths have been reported from Kashmir Valley and 309 in Jammu province.

According to the official bullet issued on Sunday evening, there are 18,199 active cases in the UT. The bulletin further read that of the 15,63,309 test results available, 14,91,119 samples have been tested negative.

To date, as many as 5,68,416 persons have been enlisted for observation, which included 15,230 persons in home quarantine — including in facilities operated by the government — 18,199 in isolation and 51,081 under home surveillance. Besides, as many as 4,82,774 persons have completed their surveillance period.

Of the total 72,190 positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir, 8,598 have been reported as travellers and 63,592 as others.

According to an official spokesman, there are 1,306 COVID dedicated beds, 1,170 isolation beds with 859 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds, of 67 beds are vacant in Jammu division. In Kashmir, there are 2,358 COVID dedicated beds, 2,214 Isolation beds, of which 1,640 beds are vacant, and 144 ICU beds, of which 119 are vacant.
