Srinagar, June 6

Suspected militants fatally shot a civilian in north Kashmir's Sopore sub-district on Saturday evening, police said.

Police said militants fired upon 25-year-old Danish Manzoor from Bomai in Sopore, grievously wounding him.

"His family took him to a local hospital, which declared him brought dead," a senior police officer said.

Soon after the shooting, security forces rushed to the area to nab the militants involved in the killing.
