The cybercrime investigation unit of Kishtwar police achieved a breakthrough by successfully recovering defrauded funds of Rs 1,22,557.

Divulging the details, Kishtwar SSP Abdul Qayoom said on February 9 this year, a complaint was lodged by one Jai Prakash, reporting a fraudulent transaction of Rs 1,22,557 involving a Netflix QR code. “Through meticulous investigation, it was revealed that the funds were transferred to the account merchant named Payxsilica.com,” the SSP said.

“During the course of investigation, the cybercrime investigation team, consisting of Sub Inspector Amrinder Singh and Moin Khan, exhibited relentless determination and advanced skill sets, ultimately leading to the successful recovery of the defrauded funds. This achievement marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against online scams and financial fraud,” the SSP said.

The SSP urged general public to remain vigilant, educate themselves about online safety and report any cybercrime incidents without delay.
