Cyclist dies in road accident

Phagwara: A cyclist, identified as Vikram, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, was killed on the spot when a speeding car hit him at Goraya on Monday. The Goraya police have registered a case and arrested the driver of the car Akhilesh Gupta, a resident of Noormahal, and sent the body to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.OC

Man run over by train

Phagwara: An unidentified person wearing saffron clothes was run over by a train near Goraya on Monday night. The Government Railway Police have registered a case and kept the body in a mortuary for identification after conducting autopsy. OC

Intoxicating injections seized

Phagwara: The police arrested two drug peddlers identified as Ajay Kumar, a resident of Khotrra village, and Naman, a resident of Mehli Gate and seized 125 intoxicating injections from their possession on Monday night. Phagwara SHO, Jatinderjit Singh, said the accused were nabbed when they were injecting themselves in the toilets of the Civil Hospital. The police have registered a case. OC
