Jalandhar: Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering marked a momentous occasion with the celebration of National Startup Day, a vibrant event showcasing entrepreneurial spirit and innovation. The highlight of the day was the ‘Innopitch: Startup Pitch Challenge’, a competition that provided a platform for students to present their ground-breaking ideas. The event witnessed an electrifying atmosphere as students from diverse disciplines came together to participate in Innopitch, an initiative aimed at fostering creativity, encouraging entrepreneurial thinking and nurturing the next generation of business leaders. The participants were required to deliver compelling presentations, demonstrating their entrepreneurial prowess and the potential impact of their ideas on various industries. Director Dr Rajesh Bagga gave away prizes to the winners. The team of Jasmilan and Neha of BCA bagged the first position for their business idea, Novel Navigator, to donate their books through an online platform. The second position was bagged by the teams of Anchal Sharma and Jaanvi, and Dollcy Sharma of MBA. Dollcy Sharma pitched her idea of selling her own religious paintings virtually. Anchal Sharma and Jaanvi pitched their idea of selling hand-made products or artefacts online.
Gurpurb observed
The birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh was celebrated with great devotion at The Gurukul school. A special assembly was organised in the school on the occasion in which the students expressed their devotion towards the tenth Sikh master through speech and poetry. School Director Sushma Handa congratulated the students and inspired them to adopt the ideology of the Guru in their lives. Principal Radha Gakhar told the students how Guru Gobind Singh sacrificed his entire family for the sake of humanity and still continued his fight against injustice.
Seminar on free legal aid
CT Institute of Law and the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) held a seminar on ‘Free Legal Aid and Victim Compensation’. Baljinder Singh, Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary of DLSA, graced the occasion as the guest of honour, lending his expertise to enrich the students’ legal acumen. He meticulously detailed who qualifies for these indispensable services, providing students with a comprehensive grasp of their entitlements. Vice-Chairman CT Group Harpreet Singh, Director Campus Dr GS Sidhu and Principal, CT Institute of Law, Dr Manavpreet Kaur attended the event along with faculty members and students.
Radio Jockey hunt
A radio jockey hunt was held at St Soldier Management and Technical Institute, Kapurthala road. The team from a popular radio channel visited the campus. Principal of the college Dr Rohan Sharma and the entire staff welcomed the team. The main objective of the talent hunt was to test the ability of the students to become a radio jockey. Radio jockeys Heena, Shubham and programming head Sahil were present as judges. The hunt had different tasks for the students by the judges, and the students participated in all the challenges. Group Chairman Anil Chopra and vice-chairperson Sangeeta Chopra encouraged the students to participate in the competition.
AGC signs MoU with NIT, Jalandhar
Amritsar: In a step towards advancing academic collaboration and fostering research cooperation, Amritsar Group of Colleges (AGC) has formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NITJ). The MoU aims to establish an Integrated M.Tech Ph.D (IMP) Programme, aligning with the norms set by NITJ. Based on the guidelines of new National Education Policy (NEP), the AGC has become the first institution in Punjab to have signed such MoU with Dr BR Ambedkar NIT. A groundbreaking opportunity now exists for students who have pursued B.Tech from AGC, offering them direct admission into the integrated programme and further enriching their academic journey. Dr Rajneesh Arora, Managing Director, AGC, said, “Our commitment to academic excellence is unwavering. The direct admission provision for B.Tech graduates from AGC into the M.Tech Ph.D integrated programme reflects our commitment to providing a seamless and enriched educational experience.” Expressing his thoughts on the collaboration, Dr Gaurav Tejpal, Principal, AGC, remarked, “The partnership indicates a significant leap toward empowering our students with enhanced academic opportunities.”
