Vibha Chibber, the new entry in Sony Sab’s show Tera Yaar Hoon Main, talks about her role

How will you sum up your professional journey so far?

After graduating from the National School of Drama, I have worked with almost all the renowned directors in the industry, be it Barry John, Kirti Jain, Ranjit Kapoor, Ram Gopal Bajaj and so on. I have got a chance to feature in plays with famous theatre directors and have always played a central character, for which I consider myself lucky.

You have worked with renowned producers in films like Chak De India, Saawariya and Ghajini. How was the experience?

Chak De India was my first film and I learnt a lot from it. Working with Shah Rukh Khan and under Yash Raj banner was a moment of pride for me. Saawariya was truly a learning experience for me, the way Sanjay Leela Bhansali explains everything to the artistes on the sets was exciting for me. Ghajini also played an important part in my acting career. I believe I am learning every day while working with every director.

What made you say yes to Tera Yaar Hoon Main?

Well, as they say you don’t choose a character, the character chooses you. Something similar happened with me too. It’s the character that made me say yes to this TV show.

This show is already having a good run. Joining it mid-way, do you feel any sort of pressure?

As an artiste, I love the challenge of playing a character that is entirely different from what I am in real life. Moreover, I have worked with Shashi Sumeet Productions earlier for a Sony Sab show. There is no pressure as such. In fact, I am delighted to have landed another challenging role.

What do you love about this character?

I am playing the role of Gurmeet and I love how my character is so distinguished from other characters. She is a true Punjabi lady, loud and happy-go-lucky.

How has been the shooting experience so far?

It has been a wonderful experience. I happened to know a few members of the cast before joining the show, which made my experience all the more enjoyable. It feels like we’re one big family.

Now that you have joined, what twist will your role bring in the show?

With the entry of Gurmeet, viewers will witness major twists in the lives of the lead characters Rajeev and Daljeet. You need to see the show to know more.

What is the message that you would want to give to your fans?

I am happy to be a part of the daily soap. The show is a home where I will be able to meet you every day. I would like to thank each and every one for the love and support they have always given to me. Also, one important message to fans is to stay safe and take care of everyone around us.
