Celebrations in Congress camp

It was celebration time in the Congress camp after Ravneet Singh Bittu had a hat-trick of Lok Sabha poll win and second consecutive win from Ludhiana.

Distribution of laddoos, people dancing on the beat of dhol and clicking selfies with Bittu was the scene at the main party office located in Sarabha Nagar.

Bittu said he had family relations with Ludhiana and he knew his family would never let him down. “I was expecting a margin of 50,000 but a margin of more than 70,000 is nothing but the love of people of Ludhiana who have shown confidence in me,” said Bittu. 

Ashwani Sharma, president of District Congress Committee, Ludhiana, said they were confident of Bittu’s win.

A Congress supporter, who was disturbing sweets, said: “Bittu is a very humble and down-to-earth person, and speaks with humility with everyone.”

Bittu’s home was thronged by his well-wishers and there were flower bouquets all over. The celebrations continued till late in the evening.
