Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, organised a webinar on “Role of women in dairy farming” to celebrate Mahila Kisan Diwas.
Dr Parkash Singh Brar, Director, Extension Education, GADVASU, said women play a major role in different chores related to dairy farming. Dr Sumanpreet Kaur Virk, Veterinary Officer, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani, Bathinda, was the keynote speaker.
Dr RK Sharma, Head, Department of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, said women farmers can participate in online programmes from their home.
Meanwhile, the PAU’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Samrala, celebrated Mahila Kisan Diwas in the village Bhagwanpura in which as many as 30 farm women participated. The event was held under the guidance of Dr Narinder Deep Singh, Deputy Director (Training), KVK, Samrala.
