Ludhiana, August 19
Students of Sat Paul Mittal School, Dugri, stamped their superiority by clinching the overall trophy in the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) Swimming Competition for ICSE schools here today.
Around 127 participants competed in different categories in various events in the senior, junior and sub-junior (boys and girls) groups at Sat Paul Mittal School Swimming Pool wherein they showcased their swimming skills.
The competition began with a welcome address by the host school head (senior section), Gurpreet Kaur. Sister Stella Maria, principal of St Mary Convent School, Jalandhar, was the observer for the event.
The chief guest of the day, Bhupinder Gogia, principal, Sat Paul Mittal School, was impressed by the agility and endurance displayed by the participants.
She congratulated and applauded the winners and other participants and suggested the children for more participation to ensure complete growth of mind and body.
Results
100m freestyle (senior boys): Saksham Thakur of Sat Paul Mittal School stood first and Jaruwit Lal Ratna of Bishop Cotton School, Shimla, second.
50m freestyle (sub-junior girls): Nisa Arora of Sat Paul Mittal School stood first and Vanya Gupta of Sat Paul Mittal School second.
50m freestyle (sub-junior boys): Adhiraj Singh Mangat of Sat Paul Mittal School stood first and Kabir of Sacred Heart School, Gurgaon, second.
100m freestyle (junior boys): Daksheesh Singhania of Sat Paul Mittal School stood first and Maninder Pal Singh of SJCS, Hoshiarpur, second.
200m backstroke (senior girls): Ria Khosla of Sat Paul Mittal School stood first and Tanihsa of Holy Heart Public School, Amritsar, second. — OC
