Ludhiana, June 27
The police arrested a thief with a stolen motorcycle at a naka laid near Jassian Chowk here today. The suspect has been identified as Chirag Bajaj, a resident of Shivpuri.
The police said they got a tip-off that the suspect was involved in thefts, vehicle lifting and other criminal activities, following which a trap was laid.
A case under Sections 379 and 411 of the IPC was registered against the suspect.
During preliminary interrogation, the suspect revealed that he used to keep an eye on two-wheelers parked on the roadsides or outside houses and commercial establishments. He used to steal vehicles with the help of a master key.
The suspect told the police that he was already booked in a case under the Excise Act at the Salem Tabri police station. He will be produced in a court to obtain his police custody.
