Will support stir till Bills are rolled back, says Sukhbir Singh Badal

Mandi Ahmedgarh, Sept 26

Former Deputy Chief Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal has announced that his party would support the coordinated struggle against three farm Bills passed by the Centre till they are withdrawn.

Badal was addressing a gathering of office-bearers and activists of the SAD at Gurdwara Manji Sahib Alamgir that was convened to oversee the preparations for the scheduled farmers’ march on October 1.

“Harsimrat Kaur Badal resigned from an important portfolio to save the interest of farmers,” said he.

Badal declared that the SAD would support the Punjab Chief Minister in the initiative. “We urge him to first immediately issue an ordinance declaring ‘Punjab a Mandi’ and follow it up by convening a special session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha to transform the ordinance into an Act,” said Badal. — OC
