Bhutan, Germany establish diplomatic ties

New Delhi, November 25

Bhutan and Germany established official diplomatic relations today, said Germany’s Ambassador to India Walter J Lindner in a social media post.

A ceremony was held at the Royal Bhutan Embassy here with the German envoy and Bhutanese Ambassador Major General Vetsop Namgyel signing the document.

Both countries have had consular relations since 2000 to cooperate in supporting initiatives in the areas of environment, culture and developmental projects.
