The Indian Army Eastern Army Commander, Lt Gen Manoj Pande, today said the India-Bangladesh relationship should remain focussed on three Cs — Connectivity, Cooperation and Consolidation.
He was speaking at the joint Indo-Bangladesh seminar held at Guwahati to mark the 50 years of the 1971 war for the liberation of Bangladesh.
“Connectivity forms the cornerstone of our relationship, with trade and people-to-people contact dependent on this. Physical connectivity will need to be translated into trade opportunities and development tools,” said the Army officer said.
Co-operation in various fields still remains short of realising its full potential and we need to gear up to make strides in these areas, the General said, adding there was need to consolidate the progress made in other fields.
