After more than a year-long wait, the release of Yaar Anmulle Returns finally gives a reason to celebrate friendship and the return of people to cinemas. With a promise to entertain like never before, the makers are hopeful that the same magic will be created on screen once more. A sequel to the successful film Yaar Anmulle, this one has encapsulated all the friendship goals in one go, just like Sharry Mann’s debut hit song in 2010, Yaar Anmulle, which inspired the title of the film the following year. We talk to some of the cast members, including, Harish Verma and Nikeet Shillon, and the crew.
Actor Harish Verma’s is reprising the role of Tinka in Yaar Anmulle Returns. Also, another franchise film, Golak Bugni Bank Te Batua’s sequel is next in line for him. He says, “I count it as a blessing that my character, Tinka, was the first one that they wanted in the sequel. There were many others who wanted to make a sequel of the popular film, but I didn’t really like the script and did not think that my character had much growth as it had in this one. I hope my character creates the same magic on screen too.”
Currently filming for another project titled Rabb Di Mehar, the actor says. “Although I was offered a few Hindi web series during the pandemic, they did not materialise. I haven’t really made up my mind about working on OTT platforms, be it Hindi or regional.”
Nikeet Dhillon, the actress paired opposite Yuvraj Hans in the film, was waiting for its release, as it was her first big project in Pollywood. She says, “The pandemic affected the release of the film last year. Gladly, it is released now and I have my fingers crossed. I hope the audience appreciates my character.”
The young actress in her second year of college got spotted through her Instagram handle, which led to her entry in the industry, but her stance on social media apps is different. “I can go on without social media. I am not a person who posts regularly or keeps up with trends. I want people to know me for my talent, which certainly doesn’t get affected from the likes and comments under your posts,” she adds.

Here’s what the public has to say about the film:
Being a Haryanvi myself, I feel the film justified the Haryanvi dialect and it wasn’t incorporated just like that. The dialogues were well-written. —Sonia Asija, Student
It’s a must-watch
It is a must-watch movie. Every guy group has a Tinka (Harish Verma), Guri (Prabh Gill) and a Deep (Yuvraj Hans). I went alone this time, but will sure watch it again with my friends. —Sahil Pannu, Student
The film really touches you. Some of the repetitive dialogues didn’t lose their charm. It grows on you as the story moves further. —Akash Singh Chadda, Entrepreneur
We have tried to be more inclusive, as we bring in a Haryanvi and Himachali character in the film. As a filmmaker, I cannot thank Anurag sir (Anurag Singh) enough, who had made the first film. I have tried my best to take the Yaar Anmulle journey a little further. —Harry Bhatti, Director
The focus is completely on Yaar Anmulle Returns and the feedback we get. I have written a few scripts, but a project which is really close to my heart is Bebe. Being open to discussions and incorporating points from others really helps in turning a regular idea into a successful script. —Gurjind Maan, Writer
