Godman found dead at dera

Sangrur: The head of a religious place was found murdered at Alisher village in the district on Tuesday. The police have registered a case. Lehra SHO Gurnam Singh said the deceased, Kalyan Das (55), had been staying at Peer Khana Dera on the Khadial road, Alisher village, from the last one year. When villagers went to the dera on Tuesday for morning prayers, they found Das murdered. TNS

Ferozepur: Former AICC member and five-term MLA from Ferozepur Assembly segment Balmukund Sharma, popularly known as “Pandit ji”, on Tuesday extended support to SAD candidate Sukhbir Singh Badal when the latter visited his house here. Plastic surgery course at Faridkot 

Chandigarh: The Medical Council of India has given its approval for starting MCh (plastic surgery), a super specialist degree course, at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot. It is the first government college to start any super specialty course in the state. In this constituent college of the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot, initially two students every year will be admitted. TNS
