Ludhiana, July 1

A 23-year-old youth allegedly stabbed Gunjan Kumar (11) to death at Durga Colony last night. The suspect has been identified as Akshay Kumar, a resident of the colony at Focal Point. The duo had an argument over a petty issue, following which Akshay allegedly stabbed Gunjan.

The victim was rushed to hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. After the incident, residents caught the suspect and handed him over to the police.

Sub-Inspector Kuldeep Singh, SHO, Focal Point, said, “Akshay used to tease Gunjan. Yesterday, the suspect went to the stall of the victim and abused him. This led to heated arguments between them. Akshay took out a knife and slit the neck of the minor boy.” Akshay has been booked for murder.
