Tribune News Service

Chandigarh, December 16

Following the Tribune report on Shutrana MLA Nirmal Singh’s complaint of a tehsildar demanding bribe for registry of a plot and no action taken by the government on his complaints, Financial Commissioner KBS Sidhu on Monday ordered an inquiry.

The inquiry will be conducted by the Patiala Deputy Commissioner. The report is to be submitted in three days.

The MLA had accused the tehsildar of demanding Rs 15,000 from a senior Congress functionary for registration of a plot while regretting that no action had been taken by the Punjab government in the one-month-old incident.
