Sangrur, October 7

After the recovery of a charred body of a youngster from Guladi village in the wee hours on Sunday, the Khanauri police have registered a case of murder against five brothers. They allegedly burnt alive the youth on Saturday night over monetary dispute.

SHO, Khanauri police station, Lakhwinder Singh said the deceased was Feroz Khan, who used to make iron gates and grills at his village. Jalaludin, father of the deceased, alleged that Satyawan, who lived in their village and owed money to his son, came to his house on Saturday night around 9 pm and took his son along with him.

“Jalaludin got to know this morning that the charred body of his son was lying in a room at Satyawan’s house. The accused on Saturday night with the help of his brothers first took Feroz to his residence, where the latter demanded his money back and it led to a clash. Thereafter, the accused put Feroz on fire and he suffered 100 per cent burns and died,” said the SHO.

A murder case has been registered against Satyawan, Nursi Ram, Bansi Ram, Jani Ram and Roshan Lal under Sections 302 and 120-B of the IPC. — TNS
