Amritsar, June 28

The Amritsar police got an eight-day remand of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, prime accused in the Sidhu Moosewala murder case, in connection with the murder of gangster Rana Kandowalia.

He was produced in a local court this morning amid tight security. The court gave his police remand for investigation in the Kandowalia murder case. Later, he was shifted to Kharar owing to security reasons.

He was brought on remand in connection with the killing of Kandowalia, who was shot by assailants at a private hospital in August last year.

The local court was today turned into a fortress while heavy security was also deputed on all main roads leading to the court complex.

Kandowalia had gone to meet someone at the hospital when he was targeted. The city police had booked four persons, including Jagroshan, Mani Rayya, both accomplices of gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria, and two unidentified persons in this connection.
