SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal today said the party would take up all pending issues of Punjab for resolution if voted to power in 2022.

After addressing public meetings in Patiala (Rural) and Nabha, Sukhbir said the SAD-BSP alliance was committed to seeking redress of all grievances, including making UT Chandigarh part of Punjab. “We will take this up as well as the issue of left-over Punjabi speaking areas once we form the government in 2022,” he said.

Stating that people’s aspirations could be best addressed by a regional party, he said, “The SAD has a 100-year-old history of fighting for the rights of farmers and downtrodden.”

Speaking at Nabha, Sukhbir said a criminal case would be registered against Sadhu Singh Dharamsot for “embezzling” crores of rupees meant for distribution to Scheduled Caste students. “All those responsible for this crime will be booked and punished,” he added. — TNS
