Tussle deepens over Hari Nagar school ownership

The tussle over the ownership of Guru Harkrishan Public School, Hari Nagar, seems to be getting deep as Manjinder Singh Sirsa, president of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, and Manjit Singh GK, former president of the committee, are at loggerheads over the alleged ownership of the property.

Manjit Singh GK said, “As per the court order, the property belongs to the committee, but the Sukho Khalsa Primary Educational Society has been revived recently with an aim to grab the property by the current president. Jathedar Avtar Singh Hitt had handed over it to the committee.”

“The society has limited representation of the DSGMC. Confusion is being created over the right on the property,” he said.

Sirsa said, “The committee will not allow nefarious designs of Manjit Singh GK to usurp Guru Harkrishan Public School (GHPS), Hari Nagar. We are not directly related to working of society.”

General Secretary Harmeet Singh Kalka said, “The GHPS Hari Nagar was handed over to the DSGMC as per order of the Jathedar of the Sri Akal Takht. This is now property of the DSGMC and nobody has any right to give it to someone.”

Responding to a question regarding Jathedar Avtar Singh Hitt, Sirsa clarified that Hit had clearly said he had handed over the school the DSGMC as per orders of Jathedar Sri Akal Takht and now this was a property of the DSGMC.
