Best Western Premier Almeida, right at the entry of Zirakpur from Chandigarh, has thrown open its doors to people with Saffron — World Cuisine Restro Bar, The Café, and its executive and premium rooms. The room, designed well, seems spacious and snug with wooden flooring.
This 71-room property offers convenience and care. The project has been developed by Ashok and Beena Sharma, who have run a hotel in Shimla earlier. With this venture, they aim at the transit travellers, corporate and foreigners in India. “Shimla is for leisure tourists; with Western Premier Almeida we widen our net to provide our hospitality to a larger section,” says Ashok.
This franchise of Best Western International, which has as many as 4,200 hotels in over 80 countries, apart from the regular facilities like online reservation, elevated car parking space, central air-conditioning; hi-speed wifi and LAN and business centre, this hotel also looks after the details like cutlery in the room and female staff for the women travellers to feel safe. Saffron, apart from Indian fare, also offers bits of European and American cuisine with private dining area on prior reservation for family or friends’ groups. And for women out to enjoy, they have special ‘kitty’ place. Colourful rugs brighten up the spaces and each floor is done up in coloured themes.
Being on the highway, this place does offer connectivity to neighbouring states and proximity to the airport, and, being sound-proof, it is a convenient, comfortable experience as well. The banquets at the hotel offer the option of pre-wedding function venues as well as can host a large gathering of up to 500.
The suites are in making as is their top (sixth) floor that will house an all-weather swimming pool, gym, spa and sauna along with a frontier cuisine restaurant with live kitchen, and a view of the airstrip.
