To keep dengue under check in the upcoming season, the district administration has asked all the departments to work in association with the Health Department. The district administration has also instructed the Municipal Corporation (MC) to file action-taken report with the deputy commissioner’s office every week.

Charing a meeting of health officials, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shivdular Singh Dhillon asked the MC to issue challans for all such public and private buildings where mosquito larva is detected during inspections. He asked the teams to show no leniency.

Dhillon also asked the MC and nagar councils, panchayat, education, fisheries, animal husbandry, roadways, food and civil supplies officials to ensure that all help is provided to health officials.

The DC also asked to ensure that all government buildings are inspected for waterlogging on rooftops and other places every week.

District Malaria Officer, Dr Madan Mohan said they had started making preparation early. “If people are ready before the outbreak of the disease, it can be easily overpowered. Residents too are requested to not let mosquitoes breed in their surroundings,” he added.
